Escape

Tempted to find an escape from the chaos he was surrounded in, he resolved to get away from home the very next morning;
For he couldn’t take the pain of heartbreak and the burden of the fast approaching deadlines at work anymore.
Stuffed his backpack with a change of clothes, threw in a few toiletries and off he drifted into an uneasy sleep.

“I still love you.” – said his girlfriend, taking his hand into hers.

“Great work with the project!” – praised his boss.

“Laughed so hard after such a long time! Amazing sense of humor, mate!” – roared his friends in between swigs of chilled beer at the bar.

Dazed yet at peace, he woke up at the break of dawn, and drove off in search of an unknown place, with soft music filling in the monotonous silence.
He remembered nothing of the dream he had last night; only an inexplicable feeling of being loved, praised and accepted.
Smiling, he turned the volume up and swayed to the music as he disappeared into the distance.

His dream was nothing but a reflection of our deepest desires; those which many of us feel ashamed to admit. Embrace life and remember that it is OK to make a temporary escape once in a while.
